Compositing

We were given a simple, poorly-lit render of a UFO and a plain background image from the university grounds. Using Shake, we had to composite them together so that the UFO felt like part of the scene.
This included:
• Recolouring the UFO so that it looked sun-lit
• Adding bounce light onto the UFO from the patio surface
• Animating the UFO's scale to give a better sense of depth
• Adding reflections of the UFO to the building windows
• Making the UFO cast shadows on its own struts as it prepared to land
• Painting out a passer-by from the background image
• Making the UFO cast shadows onto the ground, bush and building
• Adding exhaust fumes as the UFO lands
• Adding camera shake from the exhaust and the force of the landing
• Adding sparks and drag marks from the struts as the UFO comes to rest
